Local Tips

The umegae mochi (rice cake with plum paste) sold on the approach path is Dazaifu's signature snack — queue for the freshest from the oldest shops. The Starbucks by Kengo Kuma (latticed wood facade) on the approach is worth seeing. Come early on weekends — tour groups arrive by 10am.
