Local Tips

Daisen's north face (from Kagikake Pass) is Japan's most dramatic mountain wall — sheer cliffs rising 1,000m. The summit trail is currently partially closed due to erosion — check the Daisen Visitor Center for current status. The beech forest around the Motonarashi trail in October is extraordinary. The mountain dominates the entire San'in coastal view.
