Local Tips

Temple 51 of the 88-temple Shikoku pilgrimage, and one of the most visually dramatic — the approach is lined with devotional carvings and the complex extends into the cliff face. The Cave of Rebirth (Edo-period tunnel) behind the main hall is a highlight. Located in Matsuyama — combine with Dogo Onsen (20 min by tram) for a complete Matsuyama day.
