Local Tips

Myoko is one of Japan's top ski destinations with consistent deep powder — the Akakura and Myoko Suginosawa areas are the most developed. In summer the Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park has excellent hiking. The onsen town at the base (Akakura) has good ryokan and restaurants. 2.5 hours from Tokyo by Shinkansen to Myoko-Hachi Station.
